Informative Review: “These scissors are so sharp, I could cut through a diamond if I wanted to. But I won’t, because that would be wasteful. Instead, I’ll use them to cut paper, fabric, and other materials that are a little less precious.

The titanium blades are strong and durable, so I know they’ll last for years to come. And the ergonomic handles make them comfortable to use, even for long periods of time.

If you’re looking for a pair of scissors that are sharp, durable, and comfortable, then I highly recommend the Westcott 13901 8-Inch Titanium Scissors. They’re the best scissors I’ve ever used, and I’m sure you’ll love them too.”

Here is a more detailed review of the Westcott 13901 8-Inch Titanium Scissors:

Sharp blades: The titanium blades are extremely sharp, and they can easily cut through paper, fabric, and other materials.

Durable: The scissors are made from high-quality materials, and they are designed to last for years to come.

Ergonomic handles: The handles are ergonomically designed, and they make the scissors comfortable to use, even for long periods of time.

Great value: The scissors are a great value for the price. They are well-made and durable, and they will last for years to come.

I highly recommend the Westcott 13901 8-Inch Titanium Scissors to anyone who is looking for a sharp, durable, and comfortable pair of scissors. They are the best scissors I’ve ever used, and I’m sure you’ll love them too.

Here is a suggestion for how to improve the product: Make the scissors in a wider range of colors.” – Tavis

Another Helpful Review: “I bought these for my woodworking shop. Got tired of having scissors last a month before they had dents and dings in the blade, and I have better things to do than sharpen scissors.

Well, it was a two pack, so I got to be nice to my wife at the same time. She uses these for her sewing…

Day after I gave them to her she comes down and says “Wow. I know you said they were nice scissors… They’re awesome.” She doesn’t need “tough” just remarking on their comfort and sharpness for sewing. And they’ve stayed sharp for her through a couple of projects.

Out in the shop I have used them for cutting abalone inlays, veneers, etc… They’ve held up great. No deformation in the blades. Scissors are still sharp after 2 months of me making stuff.” – Jason E. Maggard

One More Review: “Over the years I have bought lots of scissors and have had mixed results on the quality. Some have had a flimsy feel to them and not given a consistent cut.

I have been very pleased with WestCott 2 pack of scissors. They have a solid feel when you cut with them and the handles don’t feel like they are bending when you make a cut.

The blades are a bit shorter than some scissors which perhaps contributes to their solid feel. I was satisfied with the price I paid given the quality of the scissors.

I am a general purpose scissor guy and will be using them primarily for paper crafts.” – NarGuy

Informative Review: “I bought these when I thought my sons had lost my NICE pair of fabric scissors. I was surprised by how heavy these are.

They appear to be solid metal. I like them, but if you were older or had wrist problems these might not be for you. That being said, they are very beautiful.

I found my nice pair of scissors a week later, right where I had left them. Oops.” – HappyGrandma#1

Another Helpful Review: “These are amazing. I love rose gold and I wanted scissors to match my desk decor. These are great quality and cut paper, card stock, and fabric very very well.

I am a teacher and my students will frequently ask to use my scissors if they need to cut something because they love them, too!

I normally shy away from letting my students use my personal items, but I know that these scissors are made well so I don’t mind.” – Ashley & Cody Miller

One More Review: “Love them! They’re super heavy duty. I get lots of compliments…ON SCISSORS!, plus they match nicely with my other rose gold and acrylic desk accessories.

They feel like and cut like expensive scissors. :)” – TFran

Informative Review: “Great Caesar’s ghost! These things are ginormous! Separate the scissors and you’ve got two small swords! My wife just took a look at the picture and ordered them, not knowing that they’re probably illegal in some countries. Good thing we’re in Texas.

The markings on them say they were made in Pakistan, they look like they were Precision ground by hand, and I can vouch for the fact that they are extremely sharp and the quality is top-notch.

It doesn’t look like the steel was hardened so I don’t know what kind of edge they will keep, but for $13, these scissors are a great deal.

Clearly I won’t be using these to trim any hair. I’ll be keeping these bad boys in a gun safe.” – Tommy Butler

Another Helpful Review: “These are HUGE! Large scissors are 12″ total length. Cutting edge is just over 5 1/2”. Weigh 1 lb. Great for big hands.

Purchased as a prop for rope cutting tricks. Polished surface can be seen from far away.

Very sharp. If cutting anything but fabric or thin paper (such as rope), be sure to use cutting edge closest to the handles for best results.

Tip is pointy but blunt enough for using in performances. Would not use with volunteers.

The only thing I may change is the nut for the pivot screw. If I find it loosens over time, I may replace with a nut with nylon threads.” – OTTObox

One More Review: “

First off, JW Rodgers, the seller, delivered this product well before the promised date. I wasn’t expecting it until well after christmas and it arrived two days before!

Now, about the scissors: very well made and very heavy duty. I bought these for the “depth of cut” and was surprised at how big they are. This is a pretty heavy set of scissors, so be prepared for the heft.

Since this item wasn’t eligible for Amazon Prime, I had to pay shipping. but even with the shipping charges, these came in at under 15 bucks and, based upon what I got, I could easily see these costing much more.” – Ron R. Nath

One of the standout features of these shears is their build quality. They’re made of high-quality materials and designed to last for a long time. They’re also incredibly comfortable to use, with ergonomically designed handles that reduce hand fatigue and provide excellent grip.

Another great feature of the KAI 7000 Series Professional Tailor Sewing Shears is their precision. They’re designed to cut through fabric with ease, leaving clean and precise edges. This precision makes them suitable for a wide range of cutting tasks, from sewing to crafting to DIY projects.

The versatility of these shears is also worth mentioning. Although they are tailor shears, their exceptional cutting performance makes them suitable for a wide range of materials, including leather, paper, and cardboard. This versatility makes them an excellent choice for anyone who needs high-quality cutting tools for a range of projects.

Overall, I’m incredibly impressed with the KAI 7000 Series Professional Tailor Sewing Shears. They’re well-made, precise, and versatile, making them an excellent choice for anyone who needs high-quality cutting tools. I highly recommend these shears to anyone who is looking for a top-quality cutting tool that can handle a wide range of materials and projects.” – Steve Ludwig

Another Helpful Review: “Over the years I’ve purchased and eventually rejected numerous pairs of sewing shears, even some from well-know brands.

They all failed, for one reason or another. But as I returned to sewing clothing instead of just drapery panels, I decided that it was time to get a pair of shears like the ones I’ve seen in couture sewing workshops.

This pair of Kai shears fits the bill. I’ve had them for more than a month now and they are so precise and sharp and easy to hold.

Their weight is perfect for me, so much so that I purchased the serrated version of this pair, and gave all my other sewing shears away.” – N. N.

One More Review: “These Japanese-made scissors are so sharp that you can cut right into blister packs with little resistance.

If anyone forgot what a blister pack is, it’s that remarkably sharp, annoying thick plastic that encases many electronic products and other household goods.

Effectively requiring sharp industrial equipment to remove the product from the packaging with much resistance. However, these scissors glide through the blister pack like butter.

Unfortunately, the ergonomics and comfort of the grip leave more to be desired. I want the grip to be of a more soft material to allow for more comfort when holding the scissors, as the grip is hard plastic and not easy on your joints when retracting and extending the scissors.” – Alex Baker

5. Klein Tools 23008 Premium Forged Heavy Duty Scissors, Multipurpose Durable Household Scissors, 8-Inch

Top-rated: 73 ratings

Klein Tools 23008 Premium Forged Heavy Duty Scissors

Informative Review: “UPDATE ::: The review below was originally written for the Klein 23008 8 inch bent trimmer – but I have also purchased the 23011 11 3/4 inch bent trimmer also. Note the 23011 price varies GREATLY across the internet at other retailers, and here on Amazon.

As of today, 9/19/2016 Amazon has these trimmers for $22 (so does Home Depot). For that price, comparatively to other retailers and past pricing, they are a great bargain. These 11 3/4″ trimmers are MASSIVE, but buzz through thick fabric, leather, plastic and heavy weight paper products.

They are also great when you want to make a long cut without having to reset…. for me, they are a nice addition to the shop, sometimes size matters! ::: END UPDATE

ORIGINAL REVIEW OF 8″ TRIMMER:

These are an excellent medium duty general purpose or shop scissor. I initially tried the Clauss Carpet/Heavy Fabric Shears (#10721), as I had used Clauss scissors in the past. When the Clauss scissors arrived, I was disappointed by the fit and finish, and more importantly the action – the scissor was too tight, and loosening the bolt was not effectively addressing the problem.

Plus, the hole on the grip was small for anything but small hands, and the balance of the scissor was off. I had used Clauss in the past, and although these were still Made in Italy, the quality had obviously decreased.

When I saw these Klein 23008 on Amazon for $17, I was willing to give them a try. I have many Klein tools, and rarely am I disappointed by the quality. Plus, these scissors are Made in the US, and I was hoping that would translate into quality. (not always the case anymore… sadly).

Once I took these out of the package, and gave them a quick test, I knew immediately they would be a keeper. First, the hole for your fingers is large, and considerably larger than the Clauss. I have semi-large hands, and there is room to spare which is nice – the picture shows this clearly – there is plenty of room for even the largest of hands.

Next, the yellow protective coating on the handles is very nice – it is thick, grippy and gives a feel to the scissor under operation.

Finally, and most importantly – these scissors come SHARP! The Clauss scissors I bought initially were sharp also, but under close inspection, the edge was not as keen as the Klein’s – the Clauss edge was rolled over in spots, and the grinding of the bevel was mediocre.

However, the Klein edge was clean, crisp and consistent, and the bevel was ground clean and true, with a semi-toothy edge which is good for a heavy duty scissor.

I then tested the scissor on some scrap denim I had sitting around, then tested it on rubber, cardboard and paper – and finally on some scrap thin carpet pieces I had lying around. In all cases, I was pleased with the performance of the Klein scissors. These are a keeper.

Note I have owned the Klein 5 1/4 Electricians scissors for years, and they are outstanding, so the fact these turned out to be high quality was not a shocker. I now plan on purchasing the Klein Utility Shears (#22002) to give them a try also – and my expectations are high.

Highly recommended! Thanks for reading.” – Timbo Slims

Another Helpful Review: “As solid, durable, and sharp as my Klein electrician’s snips, but in a size that’s much more usable for general around the house/shop use.

The handles are solid metal, coated in the same vinyl that Klein tools coats the handles on their pliers in. None of that molded plastic holding on to an inch of metal garbage that most scissors have now.

These may cost a good bit, but they’ll outlast any other pair of scissors you can buy. (except, of course, the stainless steel electrician’s snips!)” – Amazon Customer

6. Fiskars 60mm Rotary Cutter for Fabric – Titanium Rotary Cutter Blade – Craft Supplies – Crafts, Sewing, and Quilting Projects

Top-rated: 26,088 ratings

Fiskars 60mm Rotary Cutter for Fabric

Credit: Amazon.com

Informative Review: “As with all things I buy on amazon, I did plenty of reading and comparing before buying. In the end, I justified the purchase based on the overwhelming positive reviews and the name.

I have been buying Fiskars scissors for as long as I can remember and they never let me down. So, although I had read that the cutter itself is good, the blades not so much, I decided I would try it and if need be I could purchase different blades.

And it seems that is what I will be doing.

For now, it works fine. It cuts what I need to cut , but sometimes it takes a few tries to get the job done. I am using it mainly for cutting fabric. I am sure cutting paper would go over perfectly, but that is not what I bought it to do.

Even on single layers it doesn’t make complete cuts all the time I’d say maybe about 70%. I use even pressure and sometimes more pressure than necessary.

I had read that the olfa blades are much better, so I will try those out on my cutter, which is great by the way.

It feels good in my hand and even though I had thought I would accidently hit the blade retract button with my thumb while cutting, it hasn’t happened yet, but it is in the perfect place to get the blade out of the way the moment I finish a cut making it very safe (and when you have rambunctious kids and curious cats, that is always important)

So,

cons: the blade is not up to par. If I were to review them separately it would have 2 stars.

Pros: the cutter itself is ergonomic, is very well thought out, very easy to use, and I feel that my kids and cats are safe around it when used properly. If I were to rate it separately it would have 5 stars because really it exceeded my expectations.

I give it 4 stars overall because the one thing I don’t like about it is the one thing that can be and should be changed eventually.

In the picture it is hard to see, but there is an indentation after the cut where it kept going, but didn’t cut through the fabric.” – ratherbeatthebeach

Another Helpful Review: “

I install residential and commercial window films and normally I rough cut an oversized piece straight out of the box, apply it, and trim it in place.

However, with true divided light panes that have 12- 8″×12″ per set of windows, that can get rather tedious. So to spend some time processing the film to relatively exact dimensions and applying them it speeds up the process in the long run.

Another benefit is cutting thick safety film to size because it can be very difficult to trim to fit given its thickness.

All this is done with a long straight edge and cutting mat by the way.

It works exactly as intended and I hope to have it for a long time.” – Eliot Truelove

One More Review: “I bought to use with a pinking blade that costs $10.00 and the name brand version though there are less expensive ones most come with problems.

I did not want to use my two good fabric 45mm’s their handles that is for that purpose. SO hey hey hey buy a new quality one and remove it’s blade and put replace an older now near worn out blade and I have a handle to now use with the new zigzag or pinking blade and in a different color so I recongize right away which tool is the pinking tool.

Solved two things. New expensive blade as a replacement and a handle for the new expensive specialized cutter.

I think both the blades and the name brand tools however are expensive.

BUT the cheap versions usually are just that. I myself have never owned the cheaper ones but friends have and then complain to me that they don’t work and who am I to judge just listen and learn from their experiences.” – Lincoln County MT
